'Luskentyre' – Kilnformed Glass Wave
'Luskentyre' – a stunning kilnformed glass wave inspired by the breathtaking beauty of a beach in the Outer Hebrides. Named after Luskentyre beach, this piece boasts vibrant blues, turquoise, and sea greens that evoke the peace and tranquilty that can be found there. You can easily be fooled you are in the Caribbean as you glance upon the white sands and crystal waters, however when you take your socks off and dip a toe you will soon be reminded you are in the North of Scotland (if the cooler weather and midges hadn't given that away). The cooler climate aside, this is one of my favourite places to stop and just 'be', the clean crisp air and vast skies take away any worries I may have taken with me.
This freestanding piece of glass art tries to encompass a little of what I feel when I visit, the colours the clarity, the movement, they all come together into this glass piece. I have used sheet glass and crushed glasses to create this piece and it undergoes various kiln cycles until I am happy with the final colour and textures

This piece is freestanding and works well in a range of postions.

Oak base approx 97 x 90mm x 25mm
The glass fixing tightens at the back using a slot top screwdriver.
This glass panel comes in a gift box and the base is wrapped in acid free tissue paper. All packaged well for delivery.
